When the Dust Gets In Your Eyes

Akela Flats, New Mexico has been the site of terror, death and heartbreak. It seems unlikely that an isolated location like this could find a way to stir up fear in even the bravest soul. But the first photo is one I snapped recently on a trip back to El Paso from Tucson. It was a sunny day and all was right with the world. But in Devil Eye, I recreate the horror of a dust storm, with protagonist Penny Larkin caught in its clutches. The second photo shows a dust storm, much like the one Penny encountered, when she was attacked by a gang of men during her work to track down Juan Rico, a small time gunrunner. Find out what happens!
